The UGers have become known for our ridiculous dancing and comedic surprises in our performances, but this time we wanted to try something different. Cheesy gags didn't feel appropriate for the Eternal Sonata aesthetic, so we decided to do an "epic walk-on" type presentation instead. We really wanted to showcase the beauty of the costume designs, the incredible music, and the game's touching story. Polka, the game's main character, is dying of a terminal illness, so in our skit she presented a monologue that explained her fate and how she wanted to help others before she passed. Her friends then joined her to rock a battle-style presentation where each of the characters performed their own special attack from the game. MAGMA PILLAR!! Underground Cosplay was presented with a $200 cash prize from AgentSakur9 Entertainment for being their choice for most outstanding entry, as well as an amazing Xbox 360 Prize Package for the best entry from an Xbox game, as selected by an Xbox representative. The Comic-con Masquerade judges also presented us with the award for Best Re-creation, which was truly an honor since our main focus this year was on costume craftsmanship and portraying the feel of the game and characters in an exciting and touching way. We are truly grateful to all those who recognized our hard work!
